Experience college this summer at DU’s Pioneer Prep

If you are a college-focused Black and/or Latino/a high school sophomore or junior, the University of Denver has an opportunity for you to actually experience what it’s like to live and study on a college campus! Apply now to the Pioneer Prep Leadership Institute at the University of Denver! Hurry! The application deadline is Friday, May 20, 2016.

The Pioneer Prep Leadership Institute is a three-day program on the University of Denver campus. During Pioneer Prep, participants will be introduced to various topics focused on college access, navigating the college search and application process, career planning, leadership development and cultural awareness through a series of speakers and activities.  The Institute will be held from Wednesday, July 20th – Friday, July 22nd for students who identify as Black, African American or of African descent, and from Wednesday, July 27th – Friday, July 29th for students who identify as Latino/a, Hispanic or of Spanish descent. Benefits of being selected as a Pioneer Prep student:

  • Application Fee Waiver in the amount of $65 if you choose to apply for admission to DU
  • If admitted, and depending on financial need, Pioneer Prep participants will be considered for a DU Pathways Scholarship worth up to $7500 a year renewable for four years
  • Dynamic on campus experience promoting college access, leadership and cultural identity
  • Quarterly activities on campus to reconnect with DU staff and other Pioneer Prep students
